Kansas & Other Lands
Since childhood, Kansas landscapes have inspired me - the primacy of sky, and the subtle colors of the fields have become archetypes for me. Travels have given me more inspiration as I look toward other landscapes: fields, mountains, even seas.
Agricultural practices, such as the annual controlled burns of pastureland in the Flint Hills and geometric monoculture plantings around the world as seen from airplane portholes, also inspire paintings.
