Bison

When Europeans began arriving on the north American continent, an estimated 30 to 60 million bison lived on the plains. Due to massive mindless slaughter by European settlers, by 1890 there were fewer than 1,000 left. In my paintings I strive to recreate the spirit of these animals and memorialize them.
